She was born in Dayton Ohio she grew up with three other siblings. With her family, she emigrated to Australia at age 6. Thompson left New York after graduating high school. She then traveled for five long time. Thompson wanted to pursue an acting career by becoming a model. A successful modeling career helped open the doors to acting.
