The restaurant she worked in was and was a part of Broadway productions. Her cameo was in the television series "Felicity." (It it was in this series when she met her first husband Scott Foley.) Garner was first seen in Alias which is an action-thriller. Her debut performance was in the highly praised romantic comedy 13 Going on 30. The film featured her as a teenager trapped inside a 30years old body. Garner picked Gary Winick to direct the film; they kept looking for new projects until Winick's passing away in the year 2011. Garner began his role as an ambassador for Save the Children U.S.A. in 2009. This role entails promoting nutritional literacy, education and early childhood education. Garner was named to the board of directors of this non-profit organization in 2014. Garner advocates for early childhood development. In her role as an ambassador for the organization, Garner often meets with families who are part of the group's Early Steps to School Success program. The program guides parents on ways to assist youngsters to learn.
